My view: all communication has a purpose or rhetorical focus, and even though Trump seems to be unhinged at times, he is using some pretty basic ‘moves’.
If you want another angle on how someone who is even better at it than him (infuriatingly so!), just watch any interview with Trump advisor Kelly-Anne (alternative facts) Conway. She just keeps on keeping on, even when you name her game (e.g. Anderson Cooper’s interview last month).
